About Lambcam

This year we are lambing and calving at the same time.

Lambcam had a complete overhaul for 2019, with a combination of both new cameras and a new website. 2020 saw the introduction of a part time live feed, however it is a bit termpermental due to lack of bandwidth at this end. Hopefully it will be more reliable this year but time will tell... It should be running when there is a birh in progress and can been see on Youtube. I will be adding a new page with links to the Youtube videos.

The ewes have red spots on their back, indicating the results of pregancy scanning - one dot = expecting a single, two dots = expecting twins. From their scans, we are expecting 35 lambs - 15 twins and 5 singles. When looking at the "dots" on the ewes, ignore the red blob just above their tails, this is where the ram's raddle crayon marked them when they were "served" so that we could predict their due date. Consequently the ewes with "one" dot look as though they have 2 dots and the ewe with "two" look to have 3.

We were expecting 7 calves this year, unfortunately Dumbledore gave birth to a still born calf about a week before calving was expected to start, so we are now down to expecting just 6.

The index page will update every minute or so to reflect the latest images from the cameras around the barn. The cameras are as follows:

Each year we have a naming theme for the ewe lambs. Previous examples are colours, spices & fruit. This year is going to be types of dessert.
